"love actually is all around..."

what happens when you are in Germany in an apt with zero English TV stations (ok, with exception of 2 year old episodes of "Pimp My Ride")???

(a) thinking of hiring a private German tutor for a few days a week to learn the language? after all, i'm here for a year, i want this most out of this experience.

and/or

(b) stuck with one U.S. DVD that you can watch over & over until your others arrive and it is.... "Love Actually". not a new movie (think it was released back in 2003) but seriously a feel good movie that always puts a smile on my face :-) (and i don't mind watching over & over & over... *haha*)

if you haven't seen it, definitely a must-see (and a great cast too) ;-)

you can check out the trailer here...

Inspiration Wednesday

k, a day late due to internet connection issues at my new apt [enough said] but i'm crossing fingers this is now resolved...

first, i'm super thrilled to have received my personal items on Tuesday via air freight shipment from the States! [yeah, ABOUT TIME!!!] seriously, peeps, i was quite literally doing the happy dance as i unpacked my scrapbooking supplies & oh yeah, clothes, too *haha*!!!! nowwwwwwwwwww i can get to the much awaited day of creating again. i spent last night organizing it all with projects of priority and have things in order now to get rolling.

so, i have LOTS of projects (and deadlines) to get done for design teams....so, stay tuned for inspiration coming within the next week for Memory Works and A Daily Inspiration. speaking of A Daily Inspiration, there is some serious talent going on over on the blog, so make sure you ch-ch-check it out! inspiration every day, we can all use that, right? ;-)

so, since i had internet issues this week, i'm going to hit you up with 2 posts in 1 day!

i had shared earlier that i did quite a bit of creative writing in high school when i was in advanced English classes (way back in the 90's) eeeeeeeek! considering i have a birthday coming up July 29th, i'm now feeling really really dated... so, i kept a writing journal filled with entries and wrote in it just about it every day based on feelings of happiness, anger, love, troubles, experience, grief, hope...whatever was swerving in my mood.

so, without further adieu....

Just when I thought all recollections had vanished…an awakening has illuminated my life. With the acceleration of days, I thought love forgot. Yet, it remembered. It remembered me, my presence, my appearance, and thus, it wooed. I can forgive you. I see it this way. Yet, others see love as an altering time bomb ready to explode. Well, pick up the shattered remnants and place the pieces back into agreement. Yet, can one be so enthralled and moved by love that he’s afraid of it? Yes, love is a magnificent thing with a quality of resplendent beauty. However, it can be mean with a passion so pungent that it burns and singes the core of the matter. Don’t dive into this glamorized persona that can prick. I may be afraid of love…as I walk on tip toe to the edge…a fraction from diving in too deep. Yet, one doesn’t have to plunge into its watery “grave”, but just dance on the border. Yet, I desire to look at love from afar, and admire the uplifting spark that it can desire to glaze the eye with a cover so sheer, it’s unnoticeable. I reminisce on that sparkled night. I can’t hide the smile. The looking and definite shifting of the eyes, the radiant spark once talked of was not burning brightly, the warmth and comfort of an embrace that radiated with hope and a suspected assurance, the delight of conversation, sitting side-by-side with a chemistry so intense, a playful gesture of taunting…this just can’t be reality. The confessions we’ve shared through invisible waves of conversation are now silenced. Ironically, we know what each is thinking…we’ve bonded. The Chinese have a unique way of prediction…rabbits, rats, and fortune cookies…but these share no similarities. Strangely, a cosmic link bubbled with a weird fortune of truth. This was OUR moment to share and experience the fate in our hands. Fate was so clean that night we kept it pure. How quickly parted we became after a sudden rush of races, voices, and prejudices silently heard. We yearned to breach the distance that expanded beyond our ability, but the moving forces closed on our path. We silently smiled our parting until a tomorrow…

Memory Works Showcase Monday

product focus - 7 Gypsies

just recently attending the Memory Works Scrapbook Retreat in June 2009, i had the wonderful opportunity to design the covers of the Creative Studio project book with 7 Gypsies product from the Gypsy line. first of all, the retreat was absolutely FABULOUS! we were truly treated like a princess & received TONS of inspiration & product from some very generous sponsors. i didn't take a pic of my stash that i packed to bring home but let me tell ya - massive generosity!

but on to my favvvvvvvvvvv scrapbook manufacturer on this planet! i guess i should start from the beginning...i've had a long standing attraction to 7 Gypsies product since it's birth! major creative possibilities for so many out-of-the-box ideas since they came on the scene. i still have bottles of their dye, haberdasherie trinkets, mini handles, mini frames, vintage buttons, etc. even when i was with another scrapbooking consulting co prior to Memory Works, we would setup a booth at Memories Expo, etc, and they would let me setup the 7 Gypsies product because i would just almost drool as i unpacked all the packets of this & that...serious *love affair*.....ok, i'm NOT an addict, but just a little tweaked up with their product ;-)) *haha*

anyhoo, i'm majorly happy we carry their product with Memory Works and you can find lots of their product on my website to hook you up! ;-)

here are a few pics from the project i designed for the MW Scrapbook Retreat. it was lots of fun to make and if you missed out...(don't let it happen again) ;-)) *haha*

let's get this blog hopping!!!!

well, i know some, ok, many are saying ABOUT TIME! however, i have still some things to tweak here & there around here...soooo....all is still a work in progress, so hang tight with me ;-)

as many know, i have OFFICIALLY moved here to munich, germany for a 1-yr or so work re-location as the European Internal Auditor for the corporation i work for back in the state of Alabama. i've traveled within Europe to many countries within my 5 years now with the company. however, i'm SUPER excited for this positive change and journey for new landscapes, challenges, inspirations, and overall experiences. i volunteered for this chance and the doors opened and here i am...ready or not *haha* (but i believe i'm definitely full-on ready). it's interesting the opportunities & doors that ironically open (i believe [by the grace of God], although i respect others might have different views based on your beliefs) that come our way, but it's up to us to take advantage of them. also, to add, the boyfriend in Belgium is quite excited too for me to be on his side of the world (there is still so much to explore in his city of Brussels) ;-) so, here i am...ready for this journey....so let's get hopping *hahaha*

also, many know that i'm HUGE into scrapbooking! ok, maybe a slight addiction, wait, MAJOR addiction considering i packed way more scrapbooking supplies than clothes for this air freight transit to germany ;-) yeahhhhh, i felt it right to explain to the Int'l mover that i was leaving for a year and my passion in the hobby [life ;-)] of scrapbooking and he was quite interested in this conversation. i must have convinced the man because he said "wow! all these stamps, papers, and supplies, i can imagine it's fascinating and my wife should try this. perhaps, it would keep her occupied with something to do because she has no hobbies at all to pass the time of waiting for me to come home from work." so, perhaps i've sparked a bud to pass on the love to his wife of scrapbooking, u think? ;-))

anyhoo, i'm still waiting, waiting, waiting...now into week 2 of German living for that transit to bring my scrapbooking tools (just the basics would be nice - trimmer, scissors, adhesive) i would crave right now because i'm feeling LOTS of creative energy and there is an ever so tempting box of design team goodies from Scrapbook Outlet screaming my name! i track everyday online my packages from home and looks like it will be early next week before all arrives. the 10 boxes (yep, i packed well, 80% storage at home and the rest to me in about 396 lbs) of my personal items are here in Germany but must clear a couple of add'l customs clearance checkpoints before arrival here in Ismaning....so, biting my lip, twiddling my thumbs, waiting....taking everything out of the box of goodness i do have from A Daily Inspiration & imagining (while i jot down ideas in my inspiration journal), sorting through pics in my Picasa files...yep, i'm bursting at the seams to create!

also, extremely thankful to the Memory Works home office staff for making the decision to let me stay on the design team! mad thanks to kev & amber! [love you guys] i know they don't ship Int'l or have Int'l consultants but what love to say they don't want to lose me on the team and want me to stay with them! gotta' love that! i realize my pkgs from the states will be on the slow boat {chug chug} but i'm willing to wait because let me tell you, the Memory Works Express Kits are TO DIE FOR! (seriously) can't wait to get my hands on that July kit! a mini book is SCREAMING my name with that one ;-))

i have lots of ideas for the blog here! wanting to kick it up a notch with some weekly happenings and such, so i will share the plans later this week(end). in the meantime, hit me up and add me to your favs, bookmark, etc....and get ready to be scrapNSPIRED. :]

ps - (oh, i should give a "small" thx to the Marco for inspiring me with the idea for my blog title & blog ideas, he's seriously a super cool Italian with major Mac + web design skills).
