Anyhoo, resurrecting a fav project to share
and REALLY wanted to share again my
"Eat Pray Love" (not so mini) album but
it's currently out for pub w/ ST, so you can
catch it in print in the upcoming
Dec 2012 issue of ST: Create Mini Albums.
It was rather a VERY powerful album.
So, my alternate fav project would be
"I Was Here" mini album
and was featured over at 2Peas with much love
a few months ago...
and hit at 580+ views! Yeppers!!
So honored!
So, rightly sharing it up here (again)! :)
Product Feature: Simple Stories
For the cover of the album, I used "Boys Rock" paper from the Awesome collection. I really love the background of this paper with the ticket print, ticket stubs, perfect to transition for use in a travel mini.
On these pages, I used "Snapshots" (map print) paper from Destinations collection. The different mini stickers strips from Destinations "Expressions Cardstock Stickers" ("here there everywhere") are the perfect simplistic touch under a photo. Also, I added a twist of stamps & dimensional embellishing to highlight the "4x6 Journaling Card (from Elements #2)" of the Destinations collection. Also, added a pop of a "license plate" trimmed out from the "4x6 Journaling Card (from Elements #2) of the Awesome collection under a clear fragment.
The 4x6 transparencies are signature & classy with the Simple Stories collections. I love love love (ok, did I say I loveeeeee) the transparencies? Ha! Well, because there are options to use as an overlay over a 4x6 photo but also so many more options, trim/cut down from 4x6 but as I used here just simply as an insert into a bit of contrast into my mini as shown.
The different elements of the Simple Stories collections work beautifully together -Unity Stamps co-brand Simple Stories + "Travel Notes" paper from Destinations collection as shown above. Also, I worked in some stamps, rubon-ons and played on a medley of layering and dimension. There are SO many Unity Stamps co-brand Simple Stories stamps to really work these collections to the MAX!!
Gotta love the quality sticker sheets in the collections too! Here I used the "Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers" and "Expressions Cardstock Stickers", both from Destinations collection. The mini alphas are the perfect size for the cool label stickers on the sheet too!
I really worked a lot of quotes into this mini for travel & simply because I love quotes! So inspiring!
Now here, talk about working the large background stamp to the full, I used the large road map background stamp from Unity Stamps co-brand Simple Stories directly on kraft cardstock and a splash of mist/paint and love love the effect! The sweet bicycle is also from the stamps too!
I really worked the ATC size "Flash Cards" (from Destinations collection) into my mini as well. I worked in my photos & specifc words related to the pics to really highlight the details!
Calling all Washi tape lovers?
(that just might be every.body. ha!)
Well, make your own mimic Washi by using scraps & bits of papers. I used this technique on my photo above. I used the paper "Totally Cool" from the Awesome collection.
Working that large background road map stamp again here! Plus some bits from Awesome collection for the "license plate".
Another cool stamp from Unity Stamps co-brand Simple Stories! These stamps are perfection in quality. Just putting that out there...
I worked different levels of airplanes here - stamps, stickers...and the dimensional airplane on pop dots is from the "Travel Notes" paper (Destinations collection). Plus, might I add there is a coordinating polka dot plane stamp too! Oh, yeppers, find it here.
I really like the "top fav" type list on the "Flash Cards" (from the Awesome collection) and other elements. So, here I used this ATC size card to higlight my top 5 fav cities I've visited. Or maybe you can add your "top fav" moments of a trip/event... Working again the "Travel Notes" paper ("done that") from the Destinations collection.
Yep, addicted to the license plates, so ran a border of that here as well from the Awesome collection. Plus some mini photos cut to size in a cut-to-size page protector to work some NYC trip pics.
Actually, here the "correspondence" piece was a scrap piece and I decided to use it as a tab on the edge of my page. Work out those scraps! Ha!
Making use of bits & pieces of details here. The "postcard" is from the 6x6 paper pad of Awesome collection! YEP, we have the 6x6 mini version of the 12x12 version of "Flash Cards" from the Awesome collection and what a amazing thing it works so complimentary with the Destinations.
Quotes, quotes, quotes...yes, please.
Here I used a quote to compliment
the compass on the "Flash Card" from Destinations collection.
Simple Stories works every inch of space on the 12x12 fab mix of stickers options -- labels, tabs, etc. Fab "Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers" (Destinations collection).
For the love of Houndstooth!
("Journey" paper from Destinations collection)
So, hope you enjoyed my "I Was Here" mini!!
Simple Stories works it in making the collections
"mix & mingle" together beautifully!
